LO3: Task 4 – Distribution and advertising

Hi guys my Name is Jai I am back again to talk to you about the distribution, promotion and the advertising of my film.



Distribution



Distribution is a technique to get the product out to public this will include transport and promoting the product to the public. One way is to use promotion so the public will know about the item. The more promotion the more revenue the company makes. My film producer will have enough from their subsidiaries to promote the film and they spend 10% of their money on promotion. My film has been impacted by technology convergence because it has helped the film be bigger and stand out against competitors also there are more ways of viewing my film in digital form for example cinema, TV (sky), streaming (Netflix) and DVD. This makes the film cheaper for the audience and more accessable. The converged technology for my film is like the internet where you can go a view the film, you can watch this film on nearly all devices. I do think that the converge technology does help as the sales for this film has been massively increased also the amount of people watching this has been massively improved. The revenue made for this film is very successful the figures show that a lot of people have watch the film using downloadable content. The new technology has made it cheaper for my company to put the Maze Runner in the cinema because all they have to do is to get a hard drive which will stream for the film to be watch by the audience and will cost only £100 because in the old times they used to use film reels which would cost £10,000 just to get one in a cinema and show the film.

This is because that technology makes it cheaper for people to buy. You can view my film very easily on many devices. The Maze Runner is made on Blu-Ray, DVD and been on streaming websites. As consoles have the ability to have Blu-Ray these devices are very multi-functional and are able to get the film on Blu-Ray and streaming websites. These figures show that the film was a real success as the technology has made it more popular.

Advertising

My film is shown on many platforms as the promotion technique will be done on billboards and advertised on the TV adverts even in the cinema. Another one is on the trailer for YouTube videos. Another way that the film will be shown is the radio. The film will be advertise in one trailer this is to make awareness that this new film is coming out another way they can promote their film is to get it into magazine which are published every weekend. The film is marketed with many different techniques. The films merchandise like posters can be a good way of promoting the film. The audience will create a talking point and people will want the watch it has a lot of people taking about also social media when people go to a see the film they will post it on to the social media so it attracts more people like Facebook. This film will be marketed on new media as it will all be done by using technology. This will attract a mass audience. The revenue for this film is a lot and they did this because of the TV network as they are all promoting the film n their film section for example like SKY movies. 20th Century Fox has used cross media platforms so they can attract mass mainstream audience. 20th Century Fox has subsidiaries so they use them to promote the film. The audience will help the promotion for this film as they buy the product which have the film advertised by this it makes them show their friends and help the company promote. The Maze Runner appeals to the mass audience and will use all types of promotion as they focus on mass mainstream audience. The rise of the popularity of the Maze Runner is mainly because of technology convergence. This is mainly because of the social media promoting the film on the web 2.0 this create the mass audience to be able to see this content. The trailer will be imported to the web and shown on Facebook and Twitter and other social media websites and will be watch by many. As 20th Century Fox have many films out one way of them promoting there film is to use trailers in the cinema. The Maze runner was shown in nearly all cinemas. This will promote the media product.



What can I say? I LOVED this film.
So the film is a very pleasant, well-paced, well directed, reasonably well acted, and decently scored, great. Well, nice CGI, entertaining film that will please just about every audience there is, without being horribly commercial, soppy and cliché.I haven't had this much fun in a long while.

This is a positive sign as this shows that the technology has made is available for every audience and it will please all people. This film brings fun to people lives with the technology convergence it makes it available for people to review and put their opinion to many all away around the world. This is all because of technology convergence.
