What is diegetic sound?

Sound which is natural and the audience and characters can hear it birds in the background Correct

Diegesis the story world Characters dialogue find examples of significant dialogue/sound affects to analyse for their chosen film pre-production/production/post production

What is non diegetic sound?

Sound effects included into the film for example a walls moving this is not natural the actors cannot hear only the audience can hear it example would be soundtrack incidental music very good at creating emotions. Very good at building tension and atmosphere tempo. This is happening in production and post production, production would be for the composer who will write the music

What is the difference between denotation and connotation?

Denotation is what you see and hear but connotation is what it represents/means it has to be relevant to the genre.

Who talked about male gaze?

Laura muvley talked about how male audience watch the film because of one female. 1975 how women look as objects makes woman subordinate attractive.

Life on mars task
Example of non diegetic sounds I hear.
The background music, soundtrack
The wind in the background
talking from the background, voice over (little girl, paramedics)
the buzzing sound
beeping of heart rat monitor
sirens
something is wrong and has ambulance and heart rate monitor to do with emergency
the sound effects emphasis the enigma.
